To be a successful author you have to try

It’s like Pink says: You’ve gotta get up and try, and try, and try.

My best friend in high school was good at everything and so I pretended I was too. It was like taking a vitamin.

I was really terrible at the kinds of things that give you street cred in high school. Running track. Cartwheels. Math. Physics. Getting dressed. Decorating ideas for prom (the truest deal breaker for a bright future).

So I kept trying and soon I found that I didn’t suck at everything. I built a cool Leggo house, I was a good reader and learned I was killer at the come-back. I discovered these things through failure. I never would have known if I hadn’t tried.
